In Canada the Community Builders 
society coordinates best practice 
market housing initiaitves and models 
compassionate adoption for at-risk 
infants. In Sub-Saharan Africa the 
society promotes self-sufficiency 
through relationally-based 
mirco-enterprise.

The Ashs purchased the 
Dodson Rooms on Hastings with 
the guidance and support of Hart 
and Anita Molthagen in 2004. In 
2006 David and Lise agreed to   
sole ownership of the building and 
subsequently have provided further 
strategic investments in order to 
make it possible for Community 
Builders to provide sustainable 
building management services 
through the efforts of indigenous   
tenant staff and volunteers. 
Hart and Anita Molthagen 
The Molthagens purchased the 
Jubilee Rooms on Main in 2000 
and are the founders of the 
privately owned, safe and 
supportive housing development 
initiative for single room 
accommodation in Vancouver's 
Downtown Eastside.
David Ash is a director of the 
society. He is a social 
entrepreneur and has 
invested in numerous 
Canadian and international 
relief and development 
initiatives. 
Collin Chitty is a society 
director. He is an aircraft 
mechanic engineer and has 
recently had a year long cross 
cultural experience in the South 
of France.
Don Nelson is the society's 
secretary/treasurer. He is a 
Certified General Account with 
over 30 years experience 
managing in administrative 
affairs for Canadian-based 
charitable organizations.
