About the site

The shelter offers 40 beds and is operated 24 hours, 7 days a week. The shelter follows the organization’s mandate of providing inclusive housing and, as such, is a space for persons and their animal companions on a leash or in a cage. Carts and backpacks are also allowed. Three meals per day are provided.

An emergency procedure protocol is in place and all staff are trained in emergency procedures, non-violent crisis intervention, Vancouver Coastal Health’s opioid overdose response and first aid.

Meet the site manager

Robbie takes pride in the work that Community Builders has done which he believes makes it a place where differences in positivity can be made. Robbie began as an Assistant of Operations and shifted into the Shelter Manager role. He is now the Supportive Housing Manager and has learned a lot during his time with the organization. Robbie comes from a background catering, operations management, logistics and planning. He is a certified chef and spent most of his early professional career in restaurants.
